Player can build up extremely high combos and scores but it is only banked when the player hits the surface.
Loop: Player goes up (dial for current years in space goes up) → Player gets near miss (multiplier bonus goes up) → Near miss streak ends (multiplier bonus fixes until it is surpassed, by the player getting more near misses and getting a higher streak to replace it, or the player touches the surface to reset it) → Player eventually touches surface (multiply dial for current years in space by multiplier plus multiplier bonus and bank this to the player score; reset multiplier bonus and dial for current years in space)
